Dear Parents/ Guardians,
As we usher the second semester, we are looking forward to having a meaningful conversation with you in discussing and supporting your children towards attaining not only academic but also social and behavioral success. I would like to personally invite you to meet the teachers of your child on our 2nd ES PTC on February 15th, 2020. Establishing active communication between home and school is essential to provide the necessary support to your children to become successful in school.
In our effort to further provide you the help you need at home, we are regularly sending you an overview of the unit lesson for ELA, Science, Math, Social Studies, and ICT. Please use the information in supporting your child with learning the essential question (EQ), Habits of Mind (HoM), and performance task.
Please don’t forget to meet with the following teachers to get performance feedback of your child.
Art teachers - A006
Music teachers - Library room A007
ICT teachers - rooms A110 and A108
As we would like our students to develop a love for reading, we are using RAZ-plus, a leveled reading program to help your children build their phonics skills and understanding of a complex text. We are encouraging that you set a study time for your child at home and use the resources.
For parents who haven’t registered to SchoolBase, please see our Front desk team anytime during office hours. SchoolBase is our student information system which allows you to monitor student progress online even on your smartphone.
As part of our preventive measures, we would like students to practice personal hygiene like frequent handwashing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing and not coming to school when sick.
We also encourage you to write the name of your child on the water bottle and lunch boxes. It is easier to return them to the correct owner once they are found if there are names or labels written on them.
Looking forward to seeing you all at our Parent-Teacher Conference.
